Discord Server Search Tips For Gamers– In the day’s long past, there used to be a time when each community connected by establishing its own website forum. Nowadays, however, those cultures have started to dim out as there is now a simpler free alternative that also fulfils the same purpose as the conventional forum sites; Discord.
While Discord itself started as a voice chat program competing with Skype and Teamspeak but mainly targeted gamers, it has now grown bigger and more popular enough for it to become a go-to platform to host communities. Through its ability to create servers, Discord lets its users create their own Discord servers where communities can make essentially their own forum but with added voice chat features if they wish to do so.
At its current state, Discord must already have dozens of communities for you to join. The question is where you can find them — therefore, this guide will help you find the best Discord server available.
Funnily enough, one of the most underrated yet very helpful features that Discord have is their server discovery page. If you are on a PC, you can access this feature by clicking the compass icon on the left side of the corner.
There, you should find several public community servers that Discord features. You can also make use of the search bar or the categories menu to further refine your results.
An alternative method to Discord’s built-in discovery page is through third-party server directories. The upside of these directories over Discord is that users can freely list their own server; meaning even the small niche server can also be found in these third-party directories.
Several of these third parties are discord.me, disboard.org, and discordservers.com. Another benefit of using this method is you can even further refine your Discord server status search results.
The obvious last method to search your favourite Discord server is to simply look at your brand’s profile. Many streamers, YouTubers, and even popular brands have now openly shown their Discord’s public invite link.
In the majority of cases, the brands will usually attach their invite link to their social profile. You can then use the invite link to join their server by simply clicking “add a server”, and then pressing “join a server”.
Once you click the “join a server” you then paste the public invite link from earlier then press “join server” and voila. Now you are part of the brand’s community.
As most community forums have moved on to host their communities in Discord, it might be sensical for you to make a Discord account to keep updated on info like New World server status.
While having most forums centralised in one platform sounds practical, for newcomers this might be an issue as one of the common ways to join servers is through invites and these invite links usually consist of random letters and numbers that can’t be customised.
To find these links, newcomers can use Discord’s built-in server discovery. Alternatively, a third-party server discovery or even searching it directly on a brand’s profile can also be a good option.
