Team Fortress 2 DLC — TF2 has been under heat for quite some time now with rampant botting issues and its fanbase begging for it to be addressed as Valve doesn’t seem to care about whatever happens with the game and is busy with their two golden gooses; Dota 2 and recently re-released Counter Strike 2. Now imagine their surprise when for whatever reason rather than addressing the fan concern, Valve decided to partner up with brands to release something that nobody asks for.
Funko Pop recently announced Team Fortress 2 DLC skin for their upcoming game Funko Fusion free for Steam users.
Now, I personally would care less about brand partnership however when the said product is in a very borked state and the only reason it gets a mention recently is because of the fanbase kneeling and begging for any slight attention for the developer to provide a fix, I doubt any sane PR team sees this and pat their head saying that they did a good job.
But apparently, someone actually did at Funko and for whatever reason they seem to see this to be something positive.
Funko Fusion’s official account commented on the Wario64 tweet thanking them for sharing the news while shilling about the product. One reply found this tweet funny as Wario meant that we finally received new content albeit a rubbish one and Funko is just thanking them.
Similar negative sentiment can also be heard on TF2 Reddit
Not everyone is all gloom and doom however as some other users remain positive about the Team Fortress 2 Funko Pop DLC as “it might help us if the game gains more traction thanks to that. I mean, it is a free game, some people are bound to like it” sais Blahaj_IK.
Bottom line
FunkoFusionGame, Funko Fusion’s official Twitter account announces TF2 DLC for their upcoming Funko Fusion game that is planned to release on 14 September 2024. The partnership collaboration isn’t really the most welcomed one however as aside from unpopular opinions about Funko Pop in general within the community, TF2 players are currently in a heated fight with Valve Steam demanding them to deal with botting issues that are currently going rampant in the game.
However, some players remain hopeful that with the collaboration happening, they wish that it increases the game’s traction well enough that Valve may eventually put some proper love for the franchise.
