What to expect?
Just a couple weeks ago Nintendo released a 10-minute extended gameplay video featuring Mr Aonuma which shows more complete features of what we can expect after the release.
Aside from the already-to-be-expected astonishing cell shading art style, there are a couple of new interesting mechanics introduced to this entry such as fuse, ultrahand, and ascend.
The fuse mechanics gives Link the ability to combine two objects to become one weapon increasing its durability, damage, or range depending on the object that players combine.
This feature might sound somewhat similar to those who play Dead Space 3 because it kinda isー to a degree.
In the video, Link can also be seen to be able to create a tiny boat by assembling three pieces of logs together and then attaching a fan to it. The mechanic is called ultrahand.
The last notable mechanic shown in the video is ascend, which lets Link be able to morph into the ground above him.
While there might be some restrictions that the video didn’t show, generally as long as there is a ceiling that Link can reach, it is possible to ascend above it, including a hill.
What platform will the game be released to?
As this is a first-party game made by Nintendo, it is unsurprising that the game will only be available on their own console platform, Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo also released its limited edition Nintendo Switch Console OLED Model – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition which is priced at A$549.
The limited edition Switch Console is available for pre-order and should be shipped starting on 28 April 2023.
The Legend of Zelda BOTW 2 release date is expected to be on 12 May 2023 exclusive to Nintendo Switch Consoles.
The game’s official title is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which acts as a sequel to the 2017 Zelda title The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild.
